Day 02 Stopped in the Middle of Traffic

Branch Staton

Response Commentary to corresponding entry from the Devotional "Man of Purpose and Power" by Dr. Myles Munroe.

I was still just really trying to figure out how I wanted to respond to these devotionals on Day 2. My response after I read Day two’s devotional was: Don't get caught trying to look good only to realize that you aren't accomplishing your purpose. From the scripture references cited in doctor Munroe’s devotional for today I took special note of Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

The thought for Day two was “Knowing and fulfilling your purpose is the only way to do what is right.” My response was: This means you'd better identify your purpose correctly. How? By allowing God to reveal it to you. How? By remaining in his word. I've determined that the purpose of my life is to honor God. I'm willing for that to occur in whichever form God chooses to reveal as I submit to Him, and remain open to His will. Responding to Isaiah 55: 6-9, I wrote, stop thinking like carnal man, abandon unrighteousness, wicked thoughts seek the LORD. His ways are higher!
